Evening organised by the artists Ivan Polliart and Valéry Pelletier, in partnership with La Fileuse, the city of Reims’ artist-run centre.
Through presentations of some of the video projects that have inspired their practice and work, the aim is to trace the trajectory of this medium, which borrows from surrealist documentary, experimental cinema from the 1970s to the present day, and the aesthetics of everyday life. While our contemporary habits of reading moving images are based on a very clear narrative, constructed using cinematographic-style codes, video art is constructed and read using much more varied codes.
