The Frac
Since 2018, programming at the FRAC Champagne-Ardenne has explored the theme of play. Beyond the distraction and escapism that games provide, they are also a means of establishing rules, freely agreed to by participants, which, in an analogy with everyday life, act as an expression of living together. In the same way, the entire FRAC programme, entitled The Spirit of Play, between Rules and Turbulence is resolutely equal and open to diversity. Throughout the year, the FRAC team holds visits, workshops, and awareness-raising actions for all audiences.
In 2023, after a two-year study carried out in collaboration with visitors, the FRAC has decided to renew its artistic and cultural offer by transforming one of its two exhibition levels into a permanent open space where the public can meet, access information, and learn about the exhibitions and artworks. In this new space, designed to highlight the plurality of the FRAC’s missions and activities, visitors can find information about the history of the FRAC, its collection, the circulation of works, spaces dedicated to babies and young audiences, interviews with artists or feedback concerning offsite projects. This new space also hosts artistic and cultural events designed by the FRAC and/or other local players.
