FRAC Champagne-Ardenne

For the second iteration of this performance, the artist Valentine Cotte is proposing a work in which anonymously collected messages are materialised by her work in clay.

In this performance, she makes reference to the Italian artist Pippa Bacca, who in 2008 produced a work in which she hitchhiked with the artist Silvia Moro, with only a wedding dress as luggage. The journey, whose guiding principle is absolute and non-negotiable trust in others, ends tragically with Pippa’s murder. Valentine Cotte conjures up Pippa Bacca’s performance by transforming the lace and tulle dress into a suit of armour, offering a means of embracing the spoken word through gesture, listening and objects, a memorial of words.

Each spectator will have the opportunity to leave with a clay vessel turned by the artist during the performance.
