Judith Kakon, Ever Given
Exhibition from September 13th to November 3rd, 2024

FRAC Champagne-Ardenne is continuing to promote the works in its collection by presenting the works Ever Given by artist Judith Kakon to the French public for the first time. Acquired in spring 2024, these two cut-and-fold paper sculptures take the form of a bunch of grapes and a pineapple. Although they may look familiar, their disproportionate size calls for a fresh look at these everyday products.

These sculptures explore the relationship between globalisation, trade and society, recurring themes in Judith Kakon’s work. Evoking cocktail decorations or festive lanterns, they are captivating in their familiarity and imposing scale. The title Ever Given refers to the famous container ship that blocked the Suez Canal for six days in 2021.
