FRAC Champagne-Ardenne is pleased to present the exhibition This Transition Will Never End. Following Il était une fois (2022), Dans un pays lointain (2023) and Nouvelles acquisitions (2024), this final chapter highlights a selection of works recently purchased by FRAC. The prospection work carried out by the two successive acquisition committees between 2018 and 2024 led to the inclusion of 193 artworks, representing 89 artists, including 58 women and 29 nationalities. The international and varied profiles that composed these committees strove to balance the representation of artists and to construct a collection based on parity and decentralisation.

This Transition Will Never End borrows its title from Jeremy Shaw’s work, which opens the exhibition. This phrase, evocative of change, also marks a handover between two directors, Marie Griffay and Bérénice Saliou, who, along with FRAC’s team, will continue the development, conservation and promotion of this public collection, rich with over forty years of history. Offering an overview of seven years of acquisitions ahead of a new artistic direction, this exhibition presents works on display for the first time at FRAC, in an unprecedented dialogue.

FRAC warmly thanks all the members of the acquisition committees from 2018 to 2024: Ludovic Delalande, Sébastien Delot, Marie Griffay, Claire Hofmann, Kevin Hunt, Emmanuelle Lainé, Alexandra McIntosh, Sarah McCrory.
