VIDÉO CLUB MEXIQUE : OOOO, Ontologías Oaxaqueñas Orientadas a los Objetos
At FRAC Champagne-Ardenne: Javier Santos, Bruno Varela, Naomi Rincón-Gallardo
At La Clínica: Andréa Le Guellec, Mali Arun, Lefebvre Zisswiller
After Japan in 2023 and Aotearoa New Zealand in 2024, FRAC Champagne-Ardenne is partnering with La Clínica, an art center in Oaxaca, Mexico, for the third international edition of Vidéo Club.
VIDÉO CLUB MEXICO presents OOOO: Ontologías Oaxaqueñas Orientadas a los Objetos, a program that, at FRAC Champagne-Ardenne, brings together three video works produced in the state of Oaxaca. OOOO explores the essence of everyday objects through their dynamic relationships with their environment. Through the selected works and a revisitation of Object-Oriented Ontology (OOO) theories, this Vidéo Club offers a reflection on how objects generate relationships with other agents—living or non-living—over time. The videos approach the region through the materials that compose it, questioning the permanence of these ancestral materials and their use from the pre-Hispanic period to the present day. These three works highlight objects as witnesses to a local cosmology and its contemporary realities.
This exchange aims to invite visitors to FRAC Champagne-Ardenne to discover international artists while offering them the opportunity to engage with the social, political, and epistemological realities of the works’ context. This Vidéo Club will also allow the audience at La Clínica to discover the works of three artists from the Grand Est region, which will be exhibited there.
