A symbol of fertility, prosperity and purity, milk, a food common to all mammals, has traversed art history. Its uses, depictions and meanings have been shaped by the history of humankind, whether in terms of our relationship with our environment, our technical developments, our relationship with others or with ourselves. Far from being a food product like any other, milk embodies cultural, economic and philosophical issues that this exhibition invites us to reflect on.
